As a tenant-led movement, we build power through collective, direction action and solidarity support networks. We connect organizing tenants, mobilize against evictions, and fight for safe, stable, housing for all.
To ensure tenants have the tools and knowledge to stand up to landlords and politicians, we:
- Support the creation and exercise of tenant associations
- Cultivate public campaigns
- Provide neighbor-based eviction defense
- Assist in mutual aid
- Provide poli ed or popular education
RTU strengthens tenant organizing through creative agitation—art, social media, and direct outreach—while also providing practical resources like know-your-rights trainings, tenant handbooks, and a landlord database.
We prioritize community-based solutions, hosting tenant meetings, facilitating skill-sharing, and developing sustainable organizing strategies. By maintaining an independent, working-class tenant movement, RTU challenges landlord control and fights for a future where housing is a right, not a commodity.
