The Richmond Tenants Union is operated and funded for and by its members and refuses to take grants or donations from nonprofit foundations. For that reason, the Union needs to collect regular and equitable dues.
Members shall be required to pay dues on a monthly or yearly basis. A minimum of $2 per month is required for renters, but homeowners are encouraged to pay more. Houseless and unemployed members do not have to pay dues and no tenant shall be turned away from membership for the inability to pay. Dues information is private, and there is no distinction between members based on dues payments. Members may choose to donate additional funds to the Union in addition to paying membership dues.
The membership coordinator will inform new members and lapsed members of the dues structure and solicit dues when they join/rejoin.
